A lot of people live in fear of themselves. “What if others won’t accept me? What if I’m no good? What if no one pays attention to me? What if I have no idea what I’m really talking about? What if this dream is too big for me to figure out and I fail, . . . again? What about security? Saving face?”
This desire to do something with your talent is perfect. The world, society, and your own fear are going to make it difficult for you to manifest it. Trust your process. Part of that involves acknowledging your talent(s) in the first place. The things you love doing, the skills you easily pick up, the hobbies you work hard to perfect. Everyone doesn’t have the patience or make the time to do the things you do. What do you spend your time doing?
We’re multidimensional beings. It’s rare to meet someone who knew what they wanted to do at the age of 10 and have been feverishly pursuing it ever since. The reality is that everyone has their own stuff. So while it may seem like a lot for you particularly, everyone has different challenges to overcome when it comes to living a fulfilled life. Tweet This Those challenges are not always plain to see. And for whatever reason, you may believe that someone else’s lot is an easier path than yours.
Why is that we expect our art to do so much for us? We want our art to define us, explain us, feed us, be our catharsis, and we want our art to be our way out. Our way of life. Yet we clam up to share our art. Deny our art when we’re going through certain things in life, leaving it shut up inside us crying to be let out.
